Here's how this all began

September 27, 2009:

About 6 Weeks ago I was curled up in bed reading a magazine called Wanderlust (an amazing travel magazine that inspires one to go on crazy adventures). As fate, destiny, my need for randomness and adventure would have it I stumbled upon an article on The Adventurists and the Mongol Rally. Instantaneously I knew I had found the ONE.  The one adventure I must be a part of.  That night was a sleepless one for me as I stayed awake reading about the Adventurists, the rally and previous adventurers who had taken part in this glorious charity rally.  

I talked of almost nothing else for the next 2 weeks while I anxiously waited for the September 1st sign up date. And when It came, we secured a spot.  Shocked, elated and gloriously excited, did I mention shocked !  

We are now looking for our vehicle, team mates (our sweet logo is almost finished!) and are so excited to share and raise awareness about this amazing rally for charity!

poker, hookah bars, laughing, live music, rainbows, fireflies, star gazing, elegant idleness, siestas, phosphoresence, photographing random funniness, beautiful gongshows, back of motorcycle riding,

chocolate, strange foods, road trips, reading, making strangers smile, sunny days, konglish, yoga, dancing, playing with kids all over the world, adventures, beaches, floating on my back in the arabian sea, friends,
 
making life better for the young people on our amazing earth.....beaches, coconuts, beaches, Bollywood music, Bollywood movies, being in Bollywood movies :).....!!!

Ashley Leighton

Ashley lives for adventure and loves to explore what this world has to offer. She's travelled Europe, Asia, Australia, Canada and the US and can't wait for this next adventure.  What better way than to raise money for some great charities!  
Ashley love sports and knows nothing about vehicles which should make this even more entertaining. Okay, she's driven a stick shift only a few times and it is always a good laugh.
Ashley will try something at least once....including blood soup, spiders, worms, intestine sandwiches etc and some tasted better than expected.  
Ash says, "The people I meet along the way make the journey that much more memorable and special.  The Mongol Rally is an opportunity to mix my passion for adventure with my desire to help children in Mongolia. I have been blessed to have had so many opportunities in my childhood and youth and I believe that other children should be given these opportunities aswell.  I believe every child has the right to be safe and to achieve their potential; you never know what they may achieve. In the end, I can't wait to see what this journey has in store. I look forward to the challenges that ahead and I would like to say a big thank you to all of those who have already conttributed to helping make this event a success!! "
